Concertmaster
Vlad Câmpean, born in Bucharest, Romania, is a violinist who studied under Professor Magdalena Ursu at the Dinu Lipatti Music College in Bucharest. He continued his studies at the National University of Music, also in Bucharest, supervised by Professor Luminița Burcă and Professor Corina Bura.
Vlad studied for a master’s degree in orchestral performance and interpretation at the Academy of Music and Drama of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, under the supervision of Professor Oyvor Volle (Gothenburg Opera concertmaster), Professor Marja Inkinen-Engström (Gothenburg Opera 2nd violinist), and Professor Vlad Stănculeasa (Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra concertmaster).
He has participated in several different violin and chamber music masterclasses, such as those of Liviu Câșleanu, Ștefan Gheorghiu, Klaus Stohl, and Ruta Lipinaityte-Savickiene.
He has been an active member of various chamber music ensembles and has played in orchestras around the world: for example, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra (Switzerland), IYSO (Bremen, Germany), the Royal Romanian Chamber Orchestra, the Romanian Youth Orchestra, the Norwegian National Youth Orchestra, the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania), and the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania).
He has worked with some world-famous conductors and soloists: for example, Neeme Järvi, Kristjan Järvi, Steven Sloane, Christian Zacharias, Michel Tabachnik, Cristian Mandeal, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Sol Gabetta, and Daniil Trifonov.
Since 2017, Vlad has been a member of the Vanemuine theatre orchestra, where he is currently assistant leader of the second violins.
Vlad has been TÜSO concertmaster since 2022.
